The main raw material for soybean candles is paraffin wax, which is obtained by cold pressing or solvent dewaxing from waxy fractions of petroleum.
Paraffin is a mixture of various higher alkanes, mainly n-docosane and n-octadecane), containing about 85% carbon and about 14% hydrogen.
